Psychedelic funk quartet Chicano Batman are on the verge of releasing their album, Invisible People, which will appear on May 1st via ATO Records. Shortly before we get our hands on the full record, the Los Angeles band share ‘Blank Slate’, an experimental foray into their unique and jaunty synth-funk sound developed at Barefoot Studios (the hub of much of Stevie Wonder’s music throughout the seventies). Combining a thumping bass line that has us doing some high knee stomping, a monosynth-inspired guitar solo and levels of retro funk, Chicano Batman offers an instant escape into their world which teeters on the brink of reality. - Hannah Thacker
